Junior Designer

Junior designer earn GBP 22,000 , according to the Gabrielle Skelton Salary Indicators report. The Major Players Survey 2015 puts junior designers in London and the South East on GBP 24,000 in agencies and GBP 28,000 client-side.


Middleweight Designer

Middleweight designers in London and the Sout East do better in agencies at GBP 35,000 compared to GBP 28,000 client-side. The Gabriele Skelton survey puts the average UK middleweight wage at GBP 50,000 agency-side.


Senior Designer

Senior designers in the UK earn GBP 36,281 on average. Focusing on London and the South East, major Players finds salaries of GBP 48,000 in-house and GBP 50,000 agency-side.


Design Director

Design directors earn an average wage of GBP 47,005 in the UK. In London and the South East, this goes to around GBP 55,000.


Creative Director

Creative director pay is GBP 52,287 on average in the UK, but wages are considerably higher in the capital with an average London salary of GBP 100,000.


Freelance Designer

Freelance designer earn around GBP 150 per day at junior level. This rises to GBP 240 at mid-weight and GBP 400 or more at creative director level. For branding design in particular, average day rates are GBP 110, GBP 200 and GBP 300 respectively.


Editorial Design

This is the lowest paid sector in the UK. Salaries for editorial designers sit at an average wage of GBP 27,237 per year.


Branding Design

The average UK wage for branding speacialists is GBP 36,998 , that's GBP 22,000 for junior roles, rising to GBP 32,000 at mid-weight and GBP 40,000 at senior level. Creative directors can earn GBP 80,000.
